The mission of setting global benchmarks of academic excellence for Maheshwari community inspired MVPM to institute Maheshwari Scholar Awards in 2012. The awards recognize extraordinary scholastic achievements of such Maheshwaris who can serve as role models for the youth of our community. For instance, Dr. Dinesh Bharadia (Ph.D. – Stanford University), recipient of Outstanding Maheshwari Scholar Award - 2016, has been included in the top ‘30 under 30’ list of innovators by the prestigious Forbes magazine of USA.

The applicants for Scholar awards come from all across the globe including Australia, USA, UK, Germany, Spain & Japan. Within India, they come from various states like Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and of course Maharashtra. To begin with, the awardees were from Engineering & Medicine. But now they include Ph. Ds, Management Post Graduates, Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries, Lawyers, Social Scientists & UPSC qualifiers.

The Scholars are identified from among Maheshwari students with outstanding academic records in higher education. They are selected through a rigorous process carried out by an eminent jury. Beginning with five awardees in 2012 the illustrious Maheshwari Scholar Awardee family has grown to sixty-nine over the last six years.

Each Maheshwari Scholar Awardee and a Promising Maheshwari Scholar Awardee is presented a Gold Medal weighing approx.A Gold Medal cost up to Rs 50000 & Rs 25000 respectively besides a citation.respectively besides a citation. Emerging Maheshwari Scholar Awardees receive a citation.
